Videotopia

Videotopia is “the exhibit of the true history of video games,” a traveling museum exhibit that bills itself as “the only accurate exploration of the art, science and history of video games in the world.” It features more than 100 restored arcade video games including the groundbreaking games that first used microprocessors (Gunfight), ROM chips (Tank) and 3-D graphics (I, Robot). Exhibit visitors are able to play original consoles for most games on display, and use emulators for those that are not. The displays also include promotional materials and game packaging that were released with the games. Click here to watch a promotional tape for the show. Items of interest also include Breakout, a game designed by Steve Jobs during his tenure at Atari.
